Five Nights at Freddy's Mystery Minis - Series 2 - Review (Part 1)

(If you haven't already, feel free to check out the Introduction Post)

The FNaF Series 2 Mystery Minis included characters from Five Nights at Freddy's 4 (FNaF 4), FNaF 4: Halloween Update (FNaF 4: HU), and FNaF: Sister Location (FNaF: SL). FNaF 4 received a Halloween Update after FNaF 4's original release which brought in a few new characters. I'll go through each character based on their first appearance in the games (with some flexibility). I'll start with the first 12 mostly from FNaF 4, and the next post will be 12 mostly from FNaF: SL.

Note: Each of these figures have different rarities than others, sometimes leaving a bad taste in my mouth with receiving many duplicates while failing to acquire the one you want. It's not fair that some people don't have equal opportunity to get any of these figures, but it's equally not fair for me to judge the individual figure with this in mind. I'll do my best to keep my bias aside with rarities this time.

Character: Withered Bonnie
Appearance: FNaF 2
Rarity: 1/24 (Gamestop Only)

This was an outlier figure by being from FNaF 2. It is Withered Bonnie based on how it appears in the FNaF 2 teaser trailer and game. It's similar to how the Toy animatronics are sitting too. I think it's a well made figure in terms of design, like how the eyes are poking out, the little teeth, and wires from his left arm. It isn't purple like the game, yet it's one of my favorites of the series! I hope we see more Withered figures in the future.

Character: Nightmare Freddy
Appearance: FNaF 4
Rarity: 1/6

This is the spooky Freddy you see after all the Freddles stayed too long on the bed. The Freddles are also on the figure's body, like N. Freddy's artwork. This figure is very detailed, even the Freddles are detailed! I'm very satisfied with how this figure turned out.

Character: Nightmare Bonnie
Appearance: FNaF 4
Rarity: 1/12

This N. Bonnie figure is great, and one of my favorite figures of the line! Like all Nightmare figures, this one is very detailed. I especially like the little whiskers on the nose.

Character: Nightmare Chica
Appearance: FNaF 4
Rarity: 1/12

N. Chica comes with a small N. Cupcake in her hands. The N. Cupcake is well painted for such a small mold. One thing I like his how they handled her eyes. I kind of wish the other N.'s had the smaller eyes like her. It makes her stand out more.

Character: Nightmare Foxy
Appearance: FNaF 4
Rarity: 1/6

This N. Foxy is very nicely detailed, and I like the contrast between the silver and dark red. They gave him two toes on the feet, but the real N. Foxy has normal toes. Maybe they did that to make them more spiky? Either way I think it looks good!

Character: Nightmare Fredbear
Appearance: FNaF 4
Rarity: 1/24 (Retail and Walmart Only)

N. Fredbear looks just as good as the other Nightmares. By having him sitting they must have wanted to match the original Golden Freddy in Series 1 (which also sat). I would have preferred him standing like the other Nightmares honestly. It does make him look larger though, so it works out! Very neat figure!

Character: Plushtrap
Appearance: FNaF 4
Rarity: 1/36 (Gamestop Only)

Another favorite of mine in the series, Plushtrap! He is smaller than other figures, just like he is in the game. They gave him many subtle details, like the green teeth gradient, and dark eyelids. He looks adorable and creepy.

Character: Nightmare Cupcake
Appearance: FNaF 4
Rarity: 1/72

This is Cupcake that N. Chica attacks you with! It seems to have a mind of it's own though. The figure is slightly smaller than the Series 1 Cupcake. It looks good though with all the details, almost like it came straight from the game!

Character: Jack-O-Chica
Appearance: FNaF 4: HU
Rarity: 1/36 (Retail Only)

The Halloween Update in FNaF 4 brought us more characters, like Jack-O-Chica here. She looks good, and the orange on her eyes and innards glow-in-the-dark. Its a little less bright than other GITD figures. I think it looks great. Even the jack-o-lantern is nicely detailed.

Character: Nightmare Mangle
Appearance: FNaF 4: HU
Rarity: 1/72

This is one of the more impressive figures of entire line. It's a bigger figure, but still in scale with the rest of them. I like how 'chibified' everything is. N. Mangle itself looks great and just like the games. They missed the pink around her eyes, but everything else makes up for it. I hope they make a Mangle figure like this one.

Character: Nightmarionne
Appearance: FNaF 4: HU
Rarity: 1/24

Nightmarionne shows up in place of Nightmare in the Halloween Update of FNaF 4. This figure is spot-on to how it should look as a Mystery Mini! The design doesn't have many details, but they are all there in the figure. I'm especially impressed by the white stripes around his tiny fingers.

Character: Nightmare Balloon Boy
Appearance: FNaF 4: HU
Rarity: 1/24

Not even the cute style of Mystery Minis can get rid of the creepy vibe with this figure. This one has a ton of molding and love put into it. It's up there with Nightmare Mangle in terms of size and details. Unfortunately NBB is a smaller character in the games yet large in this line. I'm totally fine with it though since he looks great!

That wraps up the last of the Nightmares for this series. Later Series 3 released the remaining Nightmares with Nightmare and Jack-O-Bonnie. These Nightmare figures all look fantastic to me. I'm even more impressed with the Sister Location ones. The review continues in Part 2 with the Sister Location figures!

In the meantime, thanks for stopping by!
