Bandai - Godzilla (Chibi, SD, Gashapon)

This is a page dedicated to various Bandai Godzilla and other kaiju products in smaller scale, and specifically anything that could be  interpreted as chibi, SD, or comes in gashapon capsules.

Why my fascination with Godzilla chibis? The term "chibi" comes from the kanji "ちび" roughly translating to "little". These kinds of figures are also known as "super-deformed", or "SD" in some ways. They usually depict a character with highly detailed sculpts, but with larger heads or other out of proportioned features to highlight their iconography. Godzilla and other kaiju, always depicted as giants. The contrast of large and intimidating to small and charming hits a cord with me. It's great to me that even in their small forms, they still feel the same as if they were 100 feet tall!
